UMA’s First week back:

Bismillah! A Blessed Start to Our New School Term💖

Alhamdulillah, our corridors are once again filled with the sound of laughter, learning, and salaams as we welcomed our pupils back to Ummul Mumineen Academy for the start of a brand-new school term. It has been a week of smiles, reunions, and renewed energy as our students settled back into the classrooms that truly feel like their second home.

The excitement was undeniable as pupils reunited with friends and teachers after the break. Our classrooms came alive with laughter, hugs, and chatter as students shared their holiday experiences and quickly immersed themselves back into school life. Teachers were equally delighted to see their students return, ready to learn, explore, and thrive together.

🎉 A Special Welcome to Our New Students

This term, we were especially excited to welcome to all our newest members of the UMA family — especially our new year 7 students who are beginning their journey into secondary school. For these students, it is not only the start of a new academic year, but also the start of an important new chapter in their lives.

Our new girls have already shown wonderful enthusiasm as they step into new subjects, routines, and friendships. Alhamdulillah, they have been warmly welcomed by older pupils and staff alike, making the transition into their new school smooth and uplifting.

To all our new students across the school: we are so happy you have joined us. May Allah bless your time at UMA and fill it with knowledge, sisterhood, and faith Ameen. We look forward to seeing you flourish, Insha’Allah.

📚 Learning with Excitement

The first week was packed with activities designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. From Qur’an recitation, to hands-on science experiments, our students engaged in lessons that blended academic learning with our Islamic ethos.

💖 Nurturing Confidence and Faith

As Wales’ first Islamic school dedicated to girls, UMA continues to create a safe, nurturing space where pupils grow not only in their studies but also in their iman and self-confidence. Our dedicated staff are focused on helping every child transition smoothly into the term, while ensuring that their voices are heard and their individuality is celebrated.

🌟 Looking Ahead Together

To help students reconnect, make friends, and feel comfortable, we organised some ice breaker trips: KS2 enjoyed a fun-filled day out at Parc Play, and KS3 will be heading off on a boat trip next week. These trips are to help reconnect and build new friendships and set a positive tone for the term ahead.

As we begin this new term, we do so with gratitude to Allah and with high hopes for the months ahead. Insha’Allah, this year will bring continued achievement, lasting friendships, and opportunities for every pupil to shine. We look forward to working closely with our parents, community, and supporters to make this year one of growth and inspiration.

To our beloved UMA family: welcome back! May Allah fill this school year with with knowledge, barakah, and success for all our girls Ameen
